City of Glendale Fire Department

The Glendale Fire Department Project included the review of existing fire & emergency service performance, fire station buildings, the development of specific recommendations for two stations and a 20-Year Plan. Fire and emergency service was evaluated with respect to NFPA 1710 Standards and Requirements to maintain an ISO rating of 1. Information affecting response time, including traffic and population data, was compiled into a GIS database so that current and future demands could be evaluated. Four alternative response configurations including an order of magnitude cost estimate were evaluated and discussed with stakeholders.

Based on these assessments, the project teams were able to create a 20-Year Strategic Approach & Plan. The working process for each effort was highly inclusive including numerous interviews of staff, site visits surveys and public meetings.
