UCLA Kinross Continuation
UCLA's goal was to clearly establish its presence at its Southwestern edge, in order to give formal expression to an important entrance and support traffic mitigation measures for the large-scale Southwest Campus Housing Project. Recommendations included lengthening Kinross Avenue as a public street, as well as wide sidewalks, broad canopied trees, pedestrian-scaled lighting, signage and paving that evoked the main Campus environment. The Plan also accommodated a variety of future development scenarios.
A complex of transportation shelters were also recommended to support an inter-modal hub that will link parking, city and Campus bus services. The project also relocates within the site a Transportation Maintenance Facility for which WEA completed Programming, Schematic Design and Space Planning.
